United Club lounge pass giveaway

Hi readers,

I have a United Club pass for giveaway, usable at any United Club worldwide through December 31, 2013. I will select the winner and notify by e-mail and Facebook. I received the card from the United Explorer credit card signup, but since I have a Priority Pass which provides access to United Clubs, I don’t need these. I’d like to help a reader who can utilize them on their travels.

Two things you need to do on or before November 30 11:59pm HKT:

  1. LIKE our Facebook page
  2. Enter a comment for this post, stating where you plan to use the United Club lounge pass

Here is a list of United Club lounges, please note you don’t actually have to be flying United to use the lounges, just make sure it’s at the same airport and terminal wherever you’re going. I’ve only been to four United Lounges; EWR, LGA, NRT and GUM.

Newark’s lounge is huge, but there’s not much in terms of food. But good space to sit and relax and get some beverages. They don’t provide anything in bottles so you can’t bring anything outside with you, which stinks.

LGA’s lounge is tiny and really nothing special, just an area separate from the madness at the gates.

The best one I think is in Tokyo Narita…since it’s huge and there’s showers available, which is great right before a long flight. Food however is subpar with only soup, some basic sushi, and snack foods like rice crisps.

Guam has a nice United Lounge which offers cup noodles, but I don’t think many of you will be passing through Guam, also Guam is such a tiny airport that sitting at the gate is a relaxing experience normally anyway.

I hope to get the one-time pass to use it to access the United Club at Guam when flying GUM-HKG.

Tokyo Narita for me. Would love to enjoy some last minute Japanese chef-made sushi in the lounge before flying home. Yum yum yum!!!

Would love to use the pass to access the UA lounge @ HKG when flying a low-cost airline such as AirAsia or Jetstar, seeing as the pass can be used when flying any airline and the great part about HKIA is how all airlines depart from the same terminal. Just hope that the LCC gates will be close to the UA lounge though.

That would be the best of both worlds!

If I win the one-time United Club lounge pass, I will definitely use it to access the United Club in Hong Kong. While generally United Clubs offer no more than just drinks and prepackaged snacks, the United Club in HKG is lightyears ahead – with a wide variety of hot food, ice cream, a salad bar, etc. as one would expect in any ‘proper’ lounge (comparable with the THAI lounge next-door) – and I believe it is the true jewel in the United Club system. The decor and overall atmosphere is fantastic as well.

Unfortunately, I didn’t qualify for MileagePlus Gold status this year and now fly lounge-less on Star Alliance carriers. Hopefully I might get a chance to re-visit one of my favorite lounges in HKG with this one-time pass.

Not sure if the info on the United website inaccurate or the browser on my phone is acting up but it says there no United club lounges in any of the airports I checked 🙁 I would love to use the lounge in Amsterdam or London next year but maybe there aren’t any in European airports?

      Hi Wanderlusty,

You’re correct, there’s no United Club lounges in Europe, except for Paris. I’ve posted a complete list on the homepage now, or linked through here. However, you can use it in HKG on the way to Europe!

UA doesn’t really operate any of the European cities as hubs, that’s why they don’t have a lounge. In HKG United has flights to Chicago, San Francisco, Ho Chih Minh, and Singapore so that’s why there’s a lounge here.

This video makes me feel dizzy 🙁 there are so many food in this lounge, I wonder if Priority Club member can also go in too? Does it mean the member can go to any lounge they want?

Priority Pass member isn’t eligible for the HK lounge, since they already have access to the Traveler’s lounge. But it’s valid at almost all of the other United Clubs I’ve checked around the world.

I would like to use this United Club Pass in Hong Kong, as I have not been to one airport lounge for almost 10 years. Thanks. (Woo Hoo I am the first to leave a comment in here~)
