At terminal two in Jakarta’s Soekarno Hatto international airport, eligible Cathay passengers can use two lounges. They can access the Pura Indah lounge, whose first class wing we reviewed previously, or the Premier Lounge. As the sign outside the Premier Lounge attests, it is open to passengers and customers of a wide array of airlines and banks. Both lounges are situated next to each other close to the “D” gates in terminal two.
The Premier Lounge is decently sized, though it’s basically all in one big room with some basic partitioning. There are a number of seating areas with moderately comfortable seats, a food area and a small area with some computers. As so many people can use it, it can get quite noisy as well as busy. Its décor is slightly dated and there is no natural light inside, in contrast to the nearby gate areas.
The food selection is decent. There is a hot buffet, some display cases with small sandwiches, cakes and savoury pastries, and soups. There is a good mix of local and international food.
There is a coffee machine and a range of juices. A small fridge contains some soft drinks, and draft beer is available after twelve noon.
There is a fair selection of magazines in various languages, as well as several newspapers.
The lounge has quite a few staff, who are friendly and help to keep it pretty clean looking.
Overall, this is not a particularly enjoyable lounge but it is fine and the food selection will keep your hunger at bay.
