This is a picturesque hotel with helpful staff situated in a slightly inconvenient location near Querétaro.

The hotel is outside of the centre of Querétaro although as the city is spread out that is true of a lot of hotels. But it is a car ride from the airport or the city. It is right by a highway, which means that rooms near the front like the one I stayed in have traffic noise all the time. There is a local area a five minute walk away with shops, some eateries and a market.
On the upside, this location means that the place feels airy and has a good view at the back over rolling lands and onto mountains.
It is built like a castellated hacienda. I do not know how old the main building actually is but the feeling evokes something from a century or more ago. The courtyard is large and if coming by car you can park outside your room. Overall, the combination of external look and wooden furniture makes the hotel feel atmospheric and charming.
There is an outdoors swimming pool. I had breakfast at the restaurant which was perfectly decent.
The staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly.
I had a basic room and even that was pretty comfortable. The bed was wonderful and the room though it looked somewhat sparse was pretty comfortable. There was no bath only a shower, though as there are Jacuzzi suites I imagine that higher priced rooms have baths.
When I was visiting the area was cold, and the stone floors made the room feel chilly despite being well wrapped up. There was a heater but I couldn’t get it to change the room temperature noticeably.
This felt like a retreat. For convenience in the city I would not stay here, but if one is happy to be a bit far out and relax in the atmosphere of this large, impressive edifice then this is a good choice.
