There is a ferry service connecting Tuen Mun to Tung Chung on Lantau Island. In theory this could be convenient for people heading to the airport from Tuen Mun, but in practice it isn’t. The service headway is infrequent and at both ends the piers are not in great locations. Tung Chung’s is walkable from Tung Chung bus station, from where you can take an S1 or S56 bus to the airport. The Tuen Mun pier, however, isn’t even especially convenient for much of Tuen Mun, let alone anywhere else, given Tuen Mun’s inefficient town planning and general lack of pedestrian friendliness.

The current timetable is below. You can see it online at the Transport Department’s website.
The standard weekday fare table is below. Weekends and public holidays are more expensive, while the occasional slow ferry may be cheaper. Full details are on the Transport Department’s website. You pay when leaving the ferry. Payment is by cash (no change given) or Octopus.
The ferry is fairly small, with an inside cabin and a covered outside seating area. It’s only half an hour or so between the two piers and on a clear day the journey offers good views of both the New Territories and Lantau Island.
