Singapore Airlines is offering $20 SGD to spend the Changi Airport if you transit on Singapore Airlines this year! Certainly a nice bonus since their fares are so high to begin with. This programme is valid through March 30, 2014, although they keep extending the validity each time.
This is a pretty awesome promotion, and a good excuse to take Singapore Airlines or Silk Air on your next trip. I’m sure demand is low the first half of this year which is why Singapore Airlines is offering this promotion. Also, tickets on SQ tend to be a little more expensive than other airlines,
It’s official, starting January 1, 2013, Beijing will allow transits to a third country to be visa-free for 3 days (72 hours)! This is very similar to what China offers in Shanghai, but in Shanghai it’s 48 hours. You’ll get a stamped 3 day visa upon arrival at immigration and confirmation of your transit.
This is a nice deal for Hong Kong Airport transit passengers. Through the end of the year, you can visit Hong Kong Disneyland for $230 HKD…(Approx $29.50 USD) vs $399 normally.
Main requirements appear to be a same-day stamp in your passport showing arrival in HKG,
Yesterday I saw a news release stating that Beijing may allow 72 hours visa free visits.
Shanghai currently allows a 48 hour visa-free transit for passengers coming from outside China to another country via Shanghai. I took advantage of this twice last year flying from HKG to the USA.
