Star Ferry Prices Set to Increase

Hong Kong’s iconic Star Ferries are the cheapest way to cross Victoria Harbour, but they are about to get a little bit more costly.

With effect from Saturday 15 July, the route between Central and TST route will cost $2.70 on weekdays (was $2.50) and $3.70 on weekends and public holidays ($3.40) on the upper deck. Lower deck fares will change to $2.20 ($2) and $3.10 ($2.80) respectively.

Between Wan Chai and Tsim Sha Tsui, the adult fare will be $2.70 ($2.50) on weekdays and from $3.70 ($3.40) on weekends and public holidays.

The SCMP reports that the Star Ferry has already been considering another fare rise shortly after this one comes into operation.
