Hampton Inn University Midtown Albuquerque Review

I completely understand why this property is ranked highly on Tripadvisor 11th of 145 at the time of this writing. Check in was done quickly and professionally and the interior was modern and welcoming. The exterior is your old typically Hampton Inn and if you’re familiar with it you’ll recognize it as a Hampton Inn right away.

The room is nicely appointed with a microwave and decent fixtures. The bathroom has Neutrogena products and plenty of towels. Cleanliness was up to Hilton standards and I loved the DirectTV which provided hundreds of channels to watch, if that’s your thing.
This is a Hilton category 1 property, so only 10,000 points for a free room! Hilton points are really bad value usually with most hotels costing around 20000+ points, but not here.

Small but functional bathroom, and clean!

The hotel is next to Interstate 25 and I-40 and very close to the university of new Mexico. Keep is mind Albuquerque doesn’t offer many eating options late at night. I had to get dinner at Zinc downtown. The cellar bar served food until 11pm and they ever had live music. All other stores and restaurantsvare pretty much closed by 10 p.m. if not early.

I did go to Sandia Casino about 10-15 minutes away which was nice too, made some dough. There’s free parking, and you even get some free play money if you are a new member of their rewards club. The comps are hard to get though, nothing the first day because their system isn’t real time and have to pay for alcohol.

Old Town Albuquerque is also about a ten minute drive from the hotel and I swung by there for a little bit after check out. Parking is awesome because it’s free for two hours if you park on the streets. Don’t use the lots, they charge you money.

Overall a nice quick trip to New Mexico.
