Do you have Starwood Preferred Guest Gold or Platinum Status? If the answer is no, read on.
Right now, as in the past, SPG is offering Instant Gold Status to Asia Pacific members after they make only ONE stay at a Starwood property in Asia Pacific. This is an amazing opportunity! Not only will you instantly get Gold Status after one stay, it’ll last through July 2015!
The catch is you’re supposed to be a World or World Elite Mastercard holder, but I read reports of people who aren’t members being successful. They do ask for the first 6 digits of your credit card when you register for the promotion. Oddly though, I do have a World Mastercard but the digits didn’t work, so I just searched online and used 533506 which seems to go through.
Also, according to the terms below, you’re supposed to pay for your stay using this card, but other people have said they used a non-World Mastercard, or not even a Mastercard at all, and still received the bonus…if I were you, I’d at least try to use a Mastercard.
Last year I went to Macau and stayed at the Sheraton Macau and received Gold Status right after my points posted, it was amazing!
Benefits with Gold Status:
- Three Starpoints for every eligible U.S. dollar spent – a 50% bonus over base-level membership.
- 4 p.m. late checkout, so you can sleep in, relax by the pool or see more of the local area you’re visiting.
- An enhanced room at check-in, when available.
- Special elite customer service telephone line (available in most countries).
- Your choice of a welcome gift with each stay. Choose from bonus Starpoints, complimentary in-room Internet access or a complimentary beverage.
Here’s the main terms and conditions you need to be concerned with:
The Promotion is valid only for World and World Elite MasterCard cardholders with residence in Asia Pacific who are enrolled as Starwood Preferred Guest® Program members (“SPG Members”) at the Preferred Guest® Tier, and who have registered for the Promotion, qualified with an eligible stay and made full payment for the eligible stay and all services during the eligible stay with a World and World Elite MasterCard (Qualified SPG Members”).
To enjoy the complimentary upgrade to Starwood Preferred Guest® Gold Tier membership, eligible SPG Members must first register for the Promotion and then make one eligible stay in any of the hotels or resorts within the Asia Pacific region that are owned, managed or franchised by the Starwood Group before 13 July 2015, and make full payment for the eligible stay and all services during the eligible stay with a World MasterCard.
An eligible stay is defined as one (1) or more consecutive nights stay paying a qualifying rate at any Starwood Participating Property regardless of the number of check-ins or check-outs that occur, and posted to the Qualified SPG Member’s Starwood Preferred Guest® account. A qualifying rate is any rate that is eligible to earn Starpoints® in the Starwood Preferred Guest® Program. Definition of Eligible Rates can be found atwww.spg.com/t&c under section 4B.4.
