I had the pleasure of enjoying a nice dinner buffet at Cafe Lagoon which is located at the Gold Coast Hotel. It was surprisingly delicious and had a great selection of food.
The setting is very nice, next to the pool and greenery. There was also a live band and singer the night I went. Feels like you aren’t in Hong Kong at all, except for all of the HK people around and typical grabbing of foods, LOL.
There is both an indoor and outdoor eating and serving section. Indoor they had both Western and Asian foods prepared in the kitchen and brought out in trays. There’s a chilled seafood section with items such as crab legs, oysters, shrimp, etc. On the side there’s also a little sushi stand with rolls and sashimi.
The outdoors section has a large selection of freshly grilled, roasted, and boiled items. I saw a whole range of items; tempura, soup, all types of meats, hairy crab, grilled veggies, seafood, etc.
Dinner buffet hours:
6:30pm – 10:00pm
Phone: 2452 8448
Price Mon – Thu
Price Fri – Sun, Public Holidays & their Eves
If you have credit cards, I think they give a significant 25% off, which is a bit unusual, since logically you’d think cash would be cheaper. They also aren’t really too particular on which card you use, just make sure when you go that you have your credit card.
Gold Coast isn’t the easiest place to get to, especially if you don’t have a car. Luckily they have shuttle bus service from Tsim Sha Tsui, Tsing Yi, and Tsuen Wan.
The whole place reminded me of one of those buffets you’d find at Vegas, albeit in a more casual setting. By Hong Kong standards, I felt the selection was impressive and the food was constantly coming out, so generally you didn’t need to wait too long. If there was a line, usually I went to a different food item and came back later. Be sure to bring your appetite.
