I had checked in at an earlier airport in the U.S. in the itinerary using the electronic check in booth. I has an inside seat in the middle aisle and the plane map had shown no aisle seats, which for a flight expected to last over fourteen hours sounded uncomfortable.
I rarely fly American carriers internationally partly because I have found their service to be so poor. But I recently flew from Hong Kong to Seattle with Delta (on flight DL38) and was pleasantly surprised by the experience, especially the friendliness of the crew.
In August I went to Hawaii from Los Angeles with my family, who were flying from NYC. On the outbound, originally my family was ticketed via Delta JFK – LAX – OGG (Maui). I was ticketed 5pm departure LAX – OGG on the same flight.
Aircraft loads are very light this Winter & Spring, as all airlines are displaying cheap fares between Asia and the USA. The cheapest I’ve seen so far is HKG – LAX roundtrip for $612 USD all inclusive of fees/fuel surcharge. UA was showing flights at $620 roundtrip. You won’t find anything cheaper,
