This is a continuation of the series of posts I’ll make about searching for awards on oneworld carriers.

British Airways Award Search
British Airways has an award search engine which searches multiple Oneworld partners, but I think it’s an absolute nightmare to use. One of the tough parts is just locating the link to the award booking site, which is linked here.
The Avois web site is poorly laid out and has too many circular links. Additionally, there isn’t even an official Avios redemption chart, so you really have no idea how many miles your award trip will cost, but there is a calculator for specific city pairs. If you’re using Asia Miles, at least they have a simply laid out award redemption chart here. In the meanwhile, here is the Iberia Avios redemption chart which should be very similar.
Next is searching for flights, the BA site will always give you results flying British Airways if there is availability, so for partners you’ll need to pick a date when BA doesn’t have availability and click the search partners link. Then it’ll search around for flights on other carriers, a bit of a pain on non-peak travel dates. I really only suggest using the BA site only for BA flights or trips on other carriers where the AA, QF, JL, or CX award search engines aren’t showing results.
Lastly, BA loves leveraging fuel surcharges, so you’ll definitely be charged these fees if redeeming BA Avios, but many times can be avoided using AA or Asia Miles instead.
