If you are not an animal lover, you may find the idea of a frequent flyer scheme for pets a little strange. However, that is what Korean Air has introduced with its Skypets scheme.
Korean Air is an airline which allows a lot of pets to fly, so passengers who need to travel with a pet sometimes choose it for that reason. Under the Skypets scheme, passengers flying with a pet earn one stamp on every one-way domestic flight and two stamps on every one-way international flight. You can register up to five animals that you travel with (despite the scheme’s name, commercial animals would also seem to be eligible).
Stamps can be redeemed for rewards. For example, six stamps can be used for a fifty per cent reduction on the pet service charge on a one-way domestic flight, while twelve stamps can earn the same discount on a one-way international flight or a 100% reduction on a one-way domestic flight.
