Review: Cathay Pacific CX925 Hong Kong to Cebu

At the airport

I checked in at the airport and discovered that as this has been booked as a codeshare on Philippine Airlines, my Marco Polo status would not me use a Cathay lounge. That was the first time that had happened to me and was good to know for the future.

The plane was an Airbus A330-300 (registration number B-LAL). There was a seatback screen, USB port and power outlet at the seat.

The economy class cabin was about two thirds full. Whereas Manila flights are often busy and have a good chance of upgrades, based on this one flight I wondered whether that was not the case for Ceby flights. I had an empty seat beside me. Premium economy was almost empty and business class was about half full.

We were around twenty minutes late pushing back from the stand due to some late passengers. The flight was fairly smooth and we arrived in Cebu at exactly the scheduled time. The queue for immigration took about ten minutes.

The crew on this flight was noticeably international. They were friendly and good-humoured.

There was a combined meal and drink service once the seat belt signs went off, and after that the crew were not very visible.

Food and drink

The choice of food was Thai chicken curry or some sort of pasta. I chose the chicken curry and the curry itself was delicious. The rest of the meal was nothing special.

This was a short and pretty simple flight. It was good to have the main part of a Cathay economy meal being something genuinely tasty for a change.
