Baleka Hotel Review – Legian, Bali
The Baleka Hotel is good for the price. The service was amazing, staff is really friendly and willing to help. The style of the resort is Balinese courtyard, you really feel like your in Bali when you arrive with all of the trees and temple in the middle of the place. The location is nice, in Legian, not far from Kuta and Seminyak. It’s a few minutes walk from the beach as well, but close to the main street of shopping and restaurants also, Jalan Legian.
I got a superior room which is showing it’s age, but the room was very spacious and had a veranda type area where you can sit and keep things separate from the bedroom. The main two things I really didn’t like was the bathroom was a bit old and grimy. Also the lighting was very dim in the room and bathroom.
I think the classic rooms might actually be newer than the superior rooms which in name, sound superior. It was only a $1 difference between the two when I booked.
Pool seems nice, long and narrow, and there were plenty of available chairs when I was there. Again, the chairs are a little old but have cushions.
Breakfast was included, simple choice of eggs, bacon, sausage, some breads and fruits. Don’t expect too much, but certainly sufficient. If you’re looking to eat outside, Bamboo Warung is delicious, super cheap, and you can find it walking straight out the main driveway about 100 m on your left.
Wifi worked fine, no issues there. I used the tour desk to rent a motorbike for 50,000 and you can buy petrol across the street for 7,000 per Absolut bottle.
Overall I loved the service and Balinese feel. I just think the superior rooms can be spruced up a bit, especially the small dingy bathroom.
