Free Hertz #1 Gold Membership

Hertz is currently offering free Hertz #1 Club Gold membership. You may have to change the country on the top left of the homepage to United States. It says the offer is only valid in the United States or Canada, so if you have an address there I’d use that.

Car rentals usually aren’t very applicable for Asia travel, but if you’re going to Europe or North America car rental is a vital part of the trip. However, Hertz does have locations in Asia:  Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Limited Time Offer*: Free Membership (until September 30th). Membership Fee Normally $60
  • No stopping at over 40 of the world’s busiest airports
  • At over 1,000 locations worldwide, simply show driver’s license, pick up keys and off you go
  • Earn Free Days, Free Weeks and More with Hertz Gold Plus Rewards®

I have Hertz #1 Gold and rented cars a few times last year at LAX. They have a big board where your name will pop up, telling you the location of the car so you can go straight there and skip the desk. While this is good in theory, I much prefer some other companies such as Alamo or National which let you pick the car from the lot.

Nonetheless, if you think you’ll be renting a car in the coming year, I suggest you sign up. It certainly wouldn’t hurt or cost you anything. Happy driving!
