Stayed at the Hilton Niseko Village hotel for 4 nights this December on a ski and snowboard trip. Purchased two nights through JTB and two nights using award points booked through the Hilton website. This hotel is REALLY expensive during the winter, so try to use the points + cash option if you can.
The hotel is a bit removed from the other places in Niseko, but very easily accessible using the free Hilton shuttle or Niseko United shuttle (free with all-mountain pass.) About a 12 minute ride to Hirafu.
I am a HHonors Gold member, thanks to the promotion Hilton is running with Visa Infinite. Check-in was slow and arduous, and couldn’t secure any upgrade unfortunately. But the room was fine, two twin-size beds, modern decor. Free internet and free breakfast is included for Gold members too.
Do keep in mind that the rooms do NOT have wireless internet. The only have wired internet through a LAN cable. I only had my smartphone on me so luckily the hotel had a wireless router available which they plugged in so I can use wireless internet. Otherwise you’d have to go sit in the lobby like all of the other people in your pajamas and use the wifi.
Breakfast buffet was nice, had a selection of Western and Asian offerings. I can’t say it was really great overall, but the omelet and baked goods I found to be the most delicious.
Overall the hotel physically was up to par. There is a nice ski in/out valets are where you can check your snow equipment and boots. There’s a playroom to keep the kids busy while you’re on the slopes. The onsen is really nice and fairly large for a hotel, open practically 24 hours except during cleaning.
There were some service issues however. The concierge confirmed the wrong restaurants on the wrong dates than informed to me via email, so of course I turned up at the restaurants without reservations. Then the shuttle bus sometimes gets full, so you may want to wait a bit earlier and rush to the bus when it arrives if there’s a lot of people waiting. Housekeeping was ok, I think they did a really quick cleanup and weren’t really thoughtful in anyway. They don’t even fold clothes for you that’s left on the bed, they just threw it on the sofa, lol.
Overall, despite the service issues I’d probably come back because I liked that it was a large hotel with a lot of facilities. The ski-in/out was fantastic since I didn’t have to lug my equipment anywhere. Prices were expensive, but not really outrageous since everything in Japan is expensive. I did go to Hirafu every night, and didn’t like having to walk up hill all of the time even without my equipment. The nice onsen was a bonus and nice perk as well.
